Be a snoop with Technorati tags

Before I posted about using flickr to keep tabs on what’s going on at your school. Well what Flickr does for pictures, Technorati can do for text. Technorati has a feature that allows you to be alerted when ever anyone blogs a certain phrase.
Here’s how:
After you sign up you will be taken to the main page, up top you will see this menu bar.
![]()
Select Watchlist.
You will be taken to this page. Here you can see I have watchlists on my name (Sorry, I need my ego trip) and on Temple University.

After that you can compile a “Watchlist†that will alert you whenever a phrase in mentioned. Your watchlist can also be RSS feed by clicking on a little icon at the bottom of your list.

The downside of using tags to track imformation is that a lot of spam blogs show up. Also not every post or web page that mentions your term has anything remotely to do with the term. I get a lot of journal posts of kids saying “I’m going to apply to Temple University!”
Happy tagging…again.
