Integrate Firefox with your homework

admin

A neat little trick to help streamline your bookmarks, your research, and your documents is to make one of your firefox bookmarks a path to one of your documents.

Just right click on the bookmark bar and click “New Boomark”.

For location put the file path. You can even put directories.

I suggest making a folder for each class. If you bring a laptop class you can just throw all of the relevant sites, notes, and documents in the folder (if you record lectures you can put them in there too). This makes Firefox a one stop shop for all of your academic materials.

    Thats awesome Sean!

I didn’t even know you could make bookmark folders on the bookmark bar! I just condensed like 20 links that went all the way across the bar into 5 or so folders.

Great little “hack.” I’ve written about something similar on my Newsvine column:

It uses 37signals’ Campfire software as a great note-taking solution for class, meetings, semester organization, etc.
